"Hello and welcome! I'm Ariel Chavarro Avila, and it's an honor to share my artistic journey with you. I am an Environmental Contemporary Minimalist Artist working primarily in the captivating medium of painting, and you can explore my work further at www.arielchavarroavila.com.
My story began in 1970, nestled amidst the majestic Central Andes Mountains of Colombia. As the fourth of five siblings, my early life in the small village of La Virgen, Cundinamarca, laid the foundation for a profound appreciation of nature's subtle beauty. When my family eventually settled in Bogotá, it marked a new chapter of discovery. While my elder siblings pursued careers in system engineering and law, my heart found its true calling in the vibrant world of art. I immersed myself in studies of Fashion Design and Fine Arts, a path that ignited an enduring passion for creative expression.
My artistic career began remarkably early, with my first exhibitions in Colombia leading to the prestigious Condor de Oro (Golden Condor) award in both 1999 and 2000 – an exhilarating start to what would become a lifelong dedication.
The turn of the millennium marked a significant international leap as I moved to Madrid, Spain. There, I continued to refine my craft, exhibiting in wonderful galleries across Spain and throughout Europe, earning several fascinating art awards along the way. With immense gratitude for my time in Spain, I embarked on another adventure, relocating to London with my beloved husband. From this new base, my work gained even broader recognition, exhibiting worldwide and garnering further prestigious art accolades.
In 2023, my husband and I found our new home in Cowes, on the picturesque Isle of Wight. This inspiring environment continues to fuel my artistic practice, and I am proud to maintain a strong presence in international exhibitions, gaining increasing recognition within the global art world.
Today, I feel profoundly honored and privileged to have collaborated with pioneering environmental institutions across the globe. These partnerships have been instrumental in solidifying my identity and becoming recognized internationally as an Environmental Contemporary Minimalist Artist. My paintings are not merely observations; they are meditations on our planet's delicate balance, designed to evoke contemplation and appreciation for the natural world through a refined, contemporary, and minimalist lens.
